Find Words. Beat the Clock. Be a Word Whiz.
Word Whiz is a fast-paced letter-grid word game for Windows — in the tradition of classic word games like Boggle, Upwords, and Scrabble. Shake the dice, chain adjacent letters, and find as many words as you can before time runs out. Free to download from the Microsoft Store.
How to Play
Shake the Dice
Click Shake (or press Alt + S) to roll a fresh set of letter dice onto the grid. Every shake produces a new random board.
Find Words
Chain adjacent tiles — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — to spell valid words. Type in the box or click tiles directly; your path is highlighted as you go.
Submit & Score
Press Enter (or the Submit button) to validate your word. Longer words earn more points: 3–4 letters score 1 pt, 5 letters 2 pts, 6 letters 3 pts, 7 letters 5 pts, and 8+ letters 11 pts.
Beat the Clock
The timer counts down (3 minutes by default in Basic). When it expires the round ends automatically — or end it yourself at any time.
Everything That Makes Word Whiz Great
Randomized Dice Boards
Every shake is different. Purpose-built dice sets balance vowels and consonants so every grid is playable.
